Switch Heat Cooling System
1. Housing Cooling System
In general, there are two mode in PoE Switch cooling system.
【Air-in from front, air-out to rear】
【Air-in from left, Air-out to right】
There is no differences in the performance between these two cooling modes, their designs are depending on the structures. But in current market, there is a strange design, the air-in from front, air-out to rear while the air fan is in side. With this design, the life time of switch is shorten a lot.

In a word, the reasonable structure design is very important to keeping high performance on the heat dissipation.
2. Thermal Silicone Pad
The thermal silicone pad is used for the heat dissipation between mother board and housing, aiming to reduce thermal contact conductance caused by heat source surface and heat sink surface. It can be full filling in the gap between interfaces and help the full access between them and reduce temperature difference. Also the thermal silicone pad has the function for damping and sound absorption.

3. CPU Cooling Fin

ONV products, with design of thermal silicone pad, CPU cooling fin and 4 sets fan, could be working for a long time, while the heat absorption performance is still stable.
4. Air fan of switch
There are two types of the air fan Ball-bearing fan & Magnetic suspension fan
【Magnetic suspension fan】
Ball-bearing fan: adopting the theory of rolling friction to generate power, but under the same rotation speed, its noise is the biggest, and the cost is the highest as well.
Magnetic suspension fan: adopting electro-magnetic transducing technology and keeping rotor and stator out of touch. With the features of small noise, small shaking, but long life time.
The magnetic suspension fan of ONV product has long service time and high quality. The rotation speed is 7200 rpm
In conclusion, a scientific and reasonable layout for thermal silicone pad, cooling fin, air fan and cpu etc in cooling system is very important to keeping high and stable performance of the switch.
